  • Harvest forages at ideal crop maturity for maximum feed quality.

  • Harvest at proper moisture level for forage type and storage structure.

  • Chop to optimum length.

  • Fill rapidly, distribute evenly, and pack firmly.

  • Ensure good seal for ensiled forages.

  • During feed-out, remove enough forage daily to prevent spoilage.

  • Discard any moldy or spoiled feed.
